Hey guys its another wonderful Tuesday...if you don't know what Teaser Tuesday is about here is a refresher:

  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)

Here is my teaser for this week:
"I'm going next. Your mother wouldn't agree to that-she thought you'd still back down, decide not to come with us. Well, I'm giving you that option. I'm going next. Then, if you like to walk away, not be frozen, that's okay. I've told your aunt and uncle. They're waiting outside; they'll be there until five. After they freeze me, you can just walk away. Mom and I won't know, not for centuries, not till we wake up, and if you do decide to live instead of being frozen, we'll be okay."

Book Trailer:
Currently there is not a book trailer available.

Memorable Quotes:

"I was dead until you found me, though I breathed. I was sightless, though I could see. And then you came...and I was awakened."

"You are in a prison with no bars. I worry about you."

"She is more beautiful than I have words for. And last night, I was blessed beyond measure to serve her."

"Besides, you think I'm not used to hurting? For me, it's home sweet home, my brother."

My Musings: Zsadist is my favorite brother in the Black Dagger Brotherhood. Which makes this my favorite book in the entire series. Zsadist had captured my attention from the first moment he came into the scene in Dark Lover. I was so happy to finally get to hear his story from his point-of-view.

I found Zsadist's story to be very heartbreaking. He went through many difficult trials before he ever joined the brotherhood. It was nice to also get a real feel for Phury (Zsadist's twin).

Bella is my favorite female in the series. She is so strong willed and I love how she never gives up on Zsadist, even when he doesn't see the good thats inside of him.

The ending was A-MAY-ZING. Couldn't ask for a more perfect way to end things.

Cover Art: This cover is very seductive.

"Waiting On" Wednesday- (16)

"Waiting On" Wednesday is hosted by Breaking the Spine. The purpose of this event is to get bloggers to spotlight and share the books they are anticipating on coming out.

On my wishlist this Wednesday is: Dead Reckoning by Charlaine Harris

Description: "With her knack for being in trouble's way, Sookie witnesses the firebombing of Merlotte's, the bar where she works. Since Sam Merlotte is now known to be two-natured, suspicion falls immediately on the anti-shifters in the area. But Sookie suspects otherwise and she and Sam work together to uncover the culprit - and the twisted motive for the attack. But her attention is divided. Though she can't 'read' vampires, Sookie knows her lover Eric Northman and his 'child' Pam well - and she realises that they are plotting to kill the vampire who is now their master. Gradually, she is drawn into the plot -which is much more complicated than she knows. Caught up in the politics of the vampire world, Sookie will learn that she is as much of a pawn as any ordinary human - and that there is a new Queen on the board . . . "

"As she shuffled back, he glanced down at the tent between his legs. Christ, that goddamn thing in there was huge; he looked like he had another arm in his pants. And hiding a log like that would require scaffolding."

-"Lover Awakened" by J.R. Ward

This is my favorite book in the entire Black Dagger Brotherhood series. The main character, Zsadist, makes me positively tremble.

Memorable Quotes:

"What is your name?" she murmered.
He cocked his eyebrow at her and then went back to staring at his brother. "I'm the evil one, in case you haven't figured it out."
"I want your name not your calling."
Being a bastard's more of a compulsion, really. And it's Zsadist. I am Zsadist."

"Fine, dandy, she thought. Then lose the shirt, peel off those leather pants, and lie down on my tile. We'll take turns being on the bottom."

"Although she was ashamed to admit it now, the darkness in him had been the largest part of his allure. It was such an anomaly, a contrast to what she'd known from life. It had made him dangerous. Exciting. Sexy. But that was a fantasy. This was real.
He suffered. And there was nothing sexy or thrilling about that. (Zsadists & Bella)"

"Fine. If I can't have you, then you do the taking. Have all of me, part of me, a small piece, whatever you want. Just please, have something."

"The Stars. Jared slept beneath them, uneasy in the rustling leaves. From the battlements Finn gazed up at them, seeing the impossible distances between galaxies and nebulae, and thinking they were not as wide as the distances between people."

City of Bones by Cassandra Clare

Released Date: March 27, 2007
Publisher: Margaret K. McElderry
Pages: Hardcover (485 pages)
Age Group: Young Adult
Series: The Mortal Instruments #1
Genre: Fantasy
Author Website: http://www.cassandraclare.com/
Overall Rating: (5 out of 5 stars)

Description: When fifteen-year-old Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder - much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons. Then the body disappears into thin air. It's hard to call the police when the murderers are invisible to everyone else and when there is nothing - not even a smear of blood - to show that a boy has died. Or was he a boy?

This is Clary's first meeting with the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the earth of demons. It's also her first encounter with Jace, a Shadowhunter who looks a little like an angel and acts a lot like a jerk. Within twenty-four hours Clary is pulled into Jace's world with a vengeance, when her mother disappears and Clary herself is attacked by a demon. But why would demons be interested in ordinary mundanes like Clary and her mother? And how did Clary suddenly get the Sight? The Shadowhunters would like to know....

Exotic and gritty, exhilarating and utterly gripping, Cassandra Clare's ferociously entertaining fantasy takes readers on a wild ride that they will never want to end

Book Trailer:

Memorable Quotes:

"Don't order any of the faerie food," said Jace, looking at her over the top of his menu. "It tends to make humans a little crazy. One minute you're munching a faerie plum, the next minute you're running naked down Madison Avenue with antlers on your head. Not." he added hastily, "that this has ever happened to me."

"Declarations of love are amusing. Especially when unrequited."

"Where there is love, there is often also hate. They can exist side by side."

"A diary with no drawings of me in it? Where are the torrid fantasies? The romance covers?"

My Musings: I absolutely love this series. Cassandra Clare has amazing skills at describing the characters and all of their vast surroundings. Most may have problems with her writing style for all of her indepth descriptions, but I have found them to be essential in bringing the reader into the story.

Jace is such an amazing character. His lines make me laugh out loud and it is impossible not to fall in love with his bad boy personality.

Clary is a little spit fire. I love how is always ready to put Jace in his place and her passion to save her mother. I hate weak female characters and she is anything but not.

Magnus is probably my favorite side character. His outrageous clothing style and witty lines make him an unforgetable person.

Overall, this book made me hungry to continue to read the series, so that I may discover what is up next for each of the characters. I am so excited that this series is being made into the movie. I hope they pick the perfect Jace.

Cover Art: Who doesn't love a cover with a guy shirtless??? I know I do. I would give this cover a definite five stars if it were up to me...lol
